Firhouse Weir
Oil on Wood.
40cm x 50cm
A glimpse of nature on the Glenasmole Greenway, rushing water, sunlit stories, turning river. The unique location of Firhouse Weir in Dodder Valley Park, Dublin, near where I live is the inspiration for this painting. The rushing sounds of the water and the multitude of stones catching the light, caught my eye.
The weir is along the Greenway route off road, which is 17km long and links the Glenasmole in South Dublin to the City Centre. It’s just shy of the Tallaght M50 motorway exit. It’s amazing how such natural surroundings can make you stop and look while the city is on the move.
